Oh my goodness, hi!! Jess here, the owner of StroCo. Collection. I just want to start out this blog post by thanking you so much for taking the time to check out this website, I feel so honored that you stopped by!

A little about me! So, I am from a small town in Texas. I went to college at Sam Houston Sate University and majored in Entrepreneurship. I am sure you are wondering why I decided to open up this online shop. Well, my dad has always worked for himself and I always knew that I wanted to do the same one day, I just wasn’t sure what that would entail. I would sit for hours with my family and husband just thinking of products to come up with or ways to make a dollar, it literally consumed my mind. One day it suddenly dawned on me. I am obsessed with shopping, clothes and people, why not start my own women's clothing shop?! Well, this idea started to marinate and I talked about it for what seemed like ages. I just kept putting it off because of that silly voice that filled my head with things like “you aren’t capable, worthy or stylish enough” or “nobody will want to buy anything from your shop” … AKA the enemy. The Lord has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I truly could not get through day to day life without Him by my side. I talk to Him all day and I feel like He is my right hand man. So, obviously when I would have these negative thoughts about my ability to open up this online shop, I would turn to scripture. I prayed and prayed because I only wanted to start this venture if it was His will. I wanted to make sure that this wasn’t something that I was forcing to happen. His plan is ALWAYS better than our own, regardless of our feelings. I learned this the hard way back in High School, but boy am I so glad that I did. My husband, family and friends were all in total support for this journey and the only thing holding me back was fear and the unknown. So I decided, “I CAN DO THIS!”

When it came time to decide on a name for my shop, I was lost! Where do I even start?! So, guess what I did? Turned to scripture! I remember reading my devotional one morning and at the bottom of every devotional there are bible verses that relate to the reading for that day. I turned to that verse and it was Joshua 1:9. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” This resonated with me. I ended up searching for all of the bible verses that mentioned to be strong and courageous and I found TONS about being strong and over 5 that stated to be strong AND courageous. Instantly “StroCo.” popped into my head, which stands for STROng and COurageous. I thought it would be a perfect name for my shop because whenever I feel discouraged, scared, down or overwhelmed with this responsibility, the entire meaning behind the company is to trust in the Lord and to be STRONG AND COURAGEOUS. So here I am!

I truly hope that when you wear your item of clothing from StroCo., it is a reminder for you to do the exact same thing. I encourage you to step up your prayer game and talk with the Lord. He will never leave you nor forsake you. I also hope that it gives you strength, courage and confidence in Christ to go for whatever dream it is that might seem scary and impossible.

Isn’t it incredible to think that the One who made the ENTIRE universe and controls ALL things wants a relationship with YOU?! Specifically, YOU! He wants to help you and guide you. I get goosebumps every time I think this thought. I’m going to end with the scripture that I repeat to myself daily which is Isiah 41:13. “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you” (NIV).
